At Indie & Isaac, sustainability is at the core of what we do and the reason we get up in the morning.

Our mission is to help educate consumers around the impact their choices have on the planet, and how small changes can make a big difference. It is our aim to change consumerism to reduce fashion waste to landfill by buying less and choosing well.

We are strong advocates of the circular economy model, where every touch point of a product's lifecycle is considered and continuously re-evaluated for improvement, from sourcing to end-of-life disposal.

Our shop only holds very limited stock as we have partnered with sustainable fashion brands that understand the importance of small scale production to cut down on textile waste. We are proud to be small and we’re motivated to learn along the way to become the best sustainable version of ourself. We see our journey toward sustainability as an open and honest conversation with our suppliers, retailers, and most importantly, you.

Our collection is designed to be worn for years to come, mended, and handed down. It is our belief that a more circular approach to children's wear is needed to reduce our climate impact!

Therefore, we won't be following traditional fashion cycles. Kids don't need them! Instead we will be creating small capsule collections that will be released, quite simply, when they are ready. Most of our collection are transeasonal, gender-neutral fashion pieces that can be cherished by many generations.

We only work with brands that have sustainability practices in place and align with our own vision and mission. We are vetting our partners by seeking certifications such as GOTS, SEDEX or Oeko-Tex standards to ensure they are looking after their employees, their community and the planet as a whole. The sustainable fashion brands we work with only use natural fibres like cotton, wool, hemp or linen and we seek organic cotton baby clothes above else. We are also currently looking into swimwear made from 100% recycled nylon called Econyl™.

Here are some if the sustainability standards we look out for:

𝟏. 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚
Designed and made in Australia from Australian-grown, organic cotton.

𝟐. 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧
Made from GOTS certified organic cotton, the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. 95% or more!

𝟑. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞
Fair (not just minimum) wages are paid to garment workers in third world countries. No child labour. No hazardous working conditions.

𝟒. 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞
Transportation was taken into account to keep carbon emissions to a minimum, while strengthening the local economy.

𝟓. 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞
Human hands were used to finish off this piece.

𝟔. 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝-𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐝
The garment has been worn previously or was made from recycled materials like plastic bottles.

𝟕. 𝐁𝐈𝐏𝐎𝐂 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝

Thrift Shop

In order to keep fashion waste out of landfills, our site also features second hand kids clothes – allowing our customers to thrift from a range of pre-loved items in good shape, because recycling is an effective way to reduce our environmental impact, and we want to make it easy for you.

Packaging & Shipping

At Indie & Isaac, we are shipping your orders plastic-free. We use 100% home-compostable packaging mailers (The Better Packaging Co) and stickers made from cornstarch (Noissue), thank you cards made from recycled T-Shirts (MOO) and acid-free tissue wrap sourced from managed forests (The Wrapping Co). Our preferred delivery service is Sendle, Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral shipping service to get your goods to you while taking care of the planet. That means for every parcel sent and delivered within Australia, Sendle offsets 100% of its carbon emissions by investing in positive environmental causes. Where shipping is faster, we will send your parcel via Australia Post which is also carbon-neutral.

Kicking Goals

By 2025, we want to be the primary, trusted choice of sustainable and organic kids labels for Australian families and beyond. We are hoping to certify as B Corp and join the '1% For The Planet' program. Trees are the lungs of planet, and more are needed desperately to mitigate climate change. We would also like to extend our offering to reusable nappies.

We will continuously work on reducing our carbon footprint and initiate change – for the wellbeing of our children and the planet. If you have suggestions or feedback for us on how we can do better, please contact us at We'd love to hear from you.
